Periodic solutions and stability of a fifth order difference equation

In this paper, we study the periodic solutions of difference equation xn+1=xn-2xn-4-1, n=0,1,... where the initial conditions are real numbers. Moreover, we handle eventually periodic solutions with period two. We also investigate the stability of this difference equation.
